Lee Sutton and his #L7 team closed out their version of the 2011 racing season with a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in their home state of Georgia over the October 8-9 weekend. On Saturday night, Lee wound up tenth in his heat race and ninth in his B-Main at the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia. On Sunday evening at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, Lee finished eighth in his loaded heat race and did not start his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Taylorsville, Georgia native was not able to advance into both the 50-lap 'Dixie Shootout' and 'Rome Showdown.' The Lee Sutton Racing team ventured to the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on October 1-2 for the annual running of the 'Alabama State Championship' race. On Saturday night, Lee Sutton timed in twenty-sixth fastest during the qualifying session and later advanced up to third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off eleventh on the grid in the $10,000 to win A-Main on Sunday, Lee quickly moved up inside of the top ten in the 75-lapper. Lee Sutton and his #L7 team once again invaded the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday night, September 17 for the $2,000 to win Fall Championship race. Unfortunately, Lee's night was a short one at the Atlanta-area venue, as he broke a transmission during his hot lap session. The Lee Sutton Racing team returned to the famed Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday, September 3 to kick-off their Labor Day holiday weekend. Lee Sutton timed in twelfth fastest during the qualifying session at the Atlanta-area venue. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the $1,500 to win A-Main, Lee was running strong early in the race until a broken torque arm ended his night prematurely. Sunday's $3,000 to win 'Rome Boss' at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia was then unfortunately washed out by Mother Nature. Lee Sutton and his #L7 team invaded the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday night, August 27 for a $1,500 to win weekly showdown. Lee qualified nineteenth fastest during time trials, which locked him into the inside of the tenth row in the main event. With a strong field of cars on hand, Lee was still able to slice and dice his way past nine competitors en route to a respectable tenth place performance. The Lee Sutton Racing team took their new Warrior machine to a pair of venues in the states of Alabama and Georgia over the August 19-20 weekend. On Friday night at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama, Lee Sutton was unfortunately caught up in a lap four wreck, which relegated him to a disappointing twenty-second place finish in the $2,000 to win PRO Dirt Car Series show. At the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, things went much smoother for the #L7 team and Lee crossed the finish line fourth in a $1,500 to win weekly race behind only winner Ricky Williams, Michael Page, and Jordy Nipper. Lee Sutton and his #L7 team debuted a new Warrior racecar on Saturday night, August 13 at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia! The new car was fast right out of the box, as Lee laid down the fastest lap during the qualifying session to earn Fast Time honors. After drawing the fourth starting spot prior to the $1,500 to win main event, Lee moved forward during the race to finish a strong runner-up behind winner Michael Page.
